Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Co.
United States
Приєднався 23 кві 2021
At Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Co., we're building fine instruments, using the best materials and people in the country. While deeply rooted in the ancient musical traditions of these hills, our work is driven by the belief that an individual can take recovery into his or her own hands, and then, build something beautiful. We are like no other stringed instrument manufacturer in the world; we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit, with our own school of luthiery. The people we train, both from the recovery community and the local labor pool, make some of the best guitars, mandolins, and dulcimers you’ll ever play!

Dr. Pen was my instructor in the early 90s at University of Kentucky for an Appalachian Music class. It was one of my favorite classes in college.
We we're!
This song is so very personal. Hits my soul!

I am the proud owner of one of these instruments. It's a work of art and I really enjoy playing it. I can tell a lot of time and care went into it. It's on display in my living room when I'm not playing it. Thanks for a great instrument.
Bravo!!
😁
Thanks arlo this song reminds of the sfc law has in store for them
Recently saw your story on PBS with Duel the tap dancer. Amazing work God is doing transforming lives through you, the community of Hindman and the craftsmen, artisans and musicians of Troublesome Creek Guitar Company. There is only one thing God cannot do, and that is fail!! Troublesome Creek Guitar Company is another evidence of that! May God continue to bless each of you on your journey. Praying for your continued success in Jesus’s name!❤
Hi to Joellen, meeting her and Terry Hennessy at McCabes was a thrill. Fortunate to have purchased a beautiful dulcimer from Terry, and thank you for the detailed history of the dulcimer in Appalachia.
Soulspeak.
If you draw a picture of the fret board and label the notes for DGD , DAC, and DGC then you can look at the sheet and see what notes you have in each tuning. It would be faster than just retuning and checking to see if the note you need is in that tuning.
This is for the mode workshop
Wish I could be there! So glad you make the effort to record these days! Very grateful. Love it. Blessings!
Thanks for sharing your way of tuning!
Love Arlo...found him about a year ago, wearn" that boy out with his songs!!

This is absolutely an astounding story, and I just learned of you all today. As a musician and native of eastern Kentucky, I had no idea the existence of troublesome Creek, and I’m astounded beyond words. What a beautiful beautiful concept!
Arlo made me cry
Cool as hell. That guitar was made by rehabers here in Hindman, KY. Thank you Miss Kelsey 💙
Beautiful
This guy is the standard…no misses in his catalog..incredible voice and every song tells a story..maybe the most honest and real songwriter out there..get well Arlo
💯
Man that was great your dad was great. I feel like I knew him through his songs. He talked to many in that way I'm sure.I'm from Seymour,IN. the Small-town people like to call it.Anyway I don't know if you ever met a guy named John Crane from here. His brother is Larry Crane..My brother and I knew John Crane well from school and he was my brother's insurance man.One day we.were sittin' around shootin' the sh*t as old timers say round here.We ask how many famous music people he'd met he names a few and suddenly he hands the phone over and says check this out and he's standing there with your Dad.He talked about meeting your Dad and then we knew we were right.Your Dad was one of us except he had a very special God-givin talent and shared it and was blessed for it.John passed not too long before the loss of your dad.His favorite song of your Dad's was Souvenirs it was played on a video by his brother and John's good friend as a tribute to John's life and love of music and I guess your Dad was part of that. Keep sharing that same God-givin gift. You and your brother.
Love Arlo! Absolutely love Arlo! Thank you brother.❤
Are those hats and tshirts available for purchase?

Very good lesson. Is is possible to position the camera for future lessons so we can watch your hands from above so we do not need to convert. Your hands are very helpful. Thank you
