    I decided to get the Moroccan curl defining cream and I love it! Pair it with their leave-in and Kenra Mousse and love it. I’m the opposite, I have fine curly hair and look for dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxe (or something like that) I a shampoo says, no sulfates, I don’t buy it.

    If you really informed yourself about dimethicone is a beneficial silicone for the hair not a bad one… if you study cosmetology you will learn that beauty can be clean with silicones in it, they give many benefits to the hair and at a point in life the hair will require them if you avoid them! I’m a professional hairdresser that works with clean brand that use silicones

    • @evelution5547
      @evelution5547 9 місяців тому

      Thank you so much for watching the video and appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion. I do know that there are water soluble and non water soluble silicones. The ones that are water soluble can certainly be beneficial and can be "washed off" with sulphate shampoos. I personally avoid silicones because 1) I don't like how my hair feels after using them long term 2) I don't want to risk using "some" silicones to gain potential benefits (e.g. easier detangling) if there are other ingredients that will help me reap the exact same benefits. I hope this clarifies it better; we are all on our own hair journeys and what works for one person may not work for another.

    Hi, I am glad I searched “why did Moroccanoil ruined my hair” and I selected your video. I used this for about a year cuz I bought 1 litre bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Now my hair is more damaged than before and it really ruined my hair. For silicones I use neutrogena anti residue shampoo as a clarifying shampoo once in 2-3 weeks. But honestly, I have never dyed my hair, I just didn’t get regular cuts, but my hair was little less than knee length, yes that long. I stopped using this Moroccanoil products and switched back to the ones which helped me grow my hair and cure damage. Now the ones I use is Toni&guy damage repair Shampoo and conditioner(orange colour). Also, I also added hair mask in my routine to fix the damage. Hopefully it gets better soon cuz it’s a long time damage I did to my hair but I know now I’m using something I can blindly trust and has proven over 4-5 years that it’s good for my hair. A hairstylist told me that Moroccanoil products activate with heat so I have to blow dry my hair every time I wash them to make the products work but I don’t use heat in my hair apart from hair curler Rod once a month maybe. Hopefully my hair gets better. I’ll never use Moroccanoil again.

    Silicone isn't a toxic chemical. In fact, it's completely safe to apply to your hair and won't harm your physical health in any way. Bad" silicones (the ones most often claimed to be "bad" are dimethicone, cetyl dimethicone, cetearyl methicone, dimethiconol, stearyl dimethicone, cyclomethicone, amodimethicone, trimethylsilylamodimethicone, and cyclopentasiloxane) are the ones that are not water-soluble-meaning that no matter how much you rinse.

    I also do not like silicones. Ive read all the articles and videos about the pros, cons, and exaggeration, but the best teacher is experience. I havent used silicones or sulfates for 5 years and i find that my hair and scalp have been doing better without them. I also to avoid fragrance when i can. I also have sensitive skin so that might be why.

    Do you have a video actually recommending shampoo/conditioner? Silicone isn’t all bad, I have very sensitive, curly hair and this is the best shampoo I’ve ever used. It for sure isn’t damaging my hair. And you’re reading ingredients on some goofy Marshall’s Argan oil that’s completely unregulated over a trusted highly praised quality product. I pretty much can’t wash my hair with most shampoo. Could wash it everyday with Moroccan Oil. I wash about twice a week but my hair isn’t dry or frizzy.
