Waste of time. Can't read most text or see the chemical structures because of terrible image resolution. You get a B- grade for your presentation, and that's me being generous. Illegible!
I wonder if there is more than just cycling the polarity, it may well be that dynamic waveforms could be used for specific applications for selectivity.
This was a very nice lecture. I had never seen Carreira give a presentation. It was well presented for a broad audience.

Trouble is, it appears you are limited in scale in the lab due to the electrochemistry necessary. Not practical if you want to scale up for total synthesis for example.
this method was discussed in my days at a major pharmaceutical company for continuous manufacturing, it will boil down to cost at some point in time.

Oh, yes, this Carreira guy was the a$$hole who in 1996 wrote a mail to students that the norm is to work on weekends and evenings.
Yes, it is in hard natural products synthesis projects in PhDs.
I think this is more weight to the adage that scientists/schlolars are not good at business.. Bulk manufacturing will not be replaced by this, Just like 3d printing will not replace die mould.
