Scion XB starter
quick run down of how to get a 1st gen scion XB starter out quickly without pulling the air box and battery out.
you'll need: 3/8" ratchet, 14mm socket, 12mm socket, 3 or 6 inch extension if you have shallow sockets use a 6 inch if you have deep sockets use a 3 inch extension and a 10mm wrench for the negative battery terminal so you don't weld your ratchet to something under the car. a floor jack or lift and 2 jack stands if using a floor jack. always properly secure the vehicle on jack stands before getting under the vehicle. stay safe and save shop labor rates on this simple job.

BMW F10 LPF (low pressure fuel pump) install

this is a 2012 528i low pressure intake fuel pump replacement video. the tools you'll need are -10mm socket on either a ratchet or impact driver -long handle flat head screw driver -rubber mallet -small flat head screw driver to assist clips removal -new fuel pump & tank gasket very straight forward job takes about 30 mins without having to record and using both hands.

Installing glow plug harnesses on the engine harness side of the valve cover Gaskets. already did the glow plugs and gaskets, didn't film that part. here is just a quick clip of burning in the new harnesses.

customer brought in a 2004 530i for check engine light and oil leaks. found a ton of stuff leaking. diagnosed the CEL for secondary air pump spark plugs and a coil had went bad.

Quick view of what a catalytic converter gaurd install looks like. Very quick install. I used stainless steel fasteners vs the zinc ones supplied with the gaurd and I also used every hole the instructions show to alternate holes but I had plenty of self taping screws to add a little extra protection. this 2004 bmw is in for coolant system update. Disa valve and air intake boot. fairly easy job once you jack the engine up to get the water pump out.

So were you getting the P063 code, communication error? I was getting P0676, 674 and 671 codes on my '01. I replaced the GPCM with a Motorcraft one from ebay for around $70 and those three codes disappeared, but then a P063 code popped up. I put the old GPCM back to recheck codes and got the three previous codes back plus the P063 that I originally was not getting. I then reinstalled the new GPCM and it's back to the P063 code solely. Thinking wiring harness issue. Any words of wisdom? Thx

Here is the update: I just replaced my fuel pump. The regulator does have a spot it has to go don't just stuff it I'm there. Facing towards the Passenger seat is a hole slot you drop it in. This was by far the most helpful video.

hi, i have same car, it is starting, can drive but after stop there is impossible to start, then few hours later it will start, i can drive but after stop it will not start again. i tried few EKP Module, coded all of them but this problem came again and again. it may be low pressure fuel pump?
Did you get the module coded to the car? Or try a reset procedure? Depending on the scanner that can turn on the ekp
Breh, I pushed that hose in the back as you did and it gave me incorrect fuel levels. About 3/4 a tank after each fill-up. It goes into a fitted slot 😑
The thing that bleeds back into the tank. I Believe it does has a spot, just clips on to for you won’t have trouble with the pump turning. Did 3 fuel pump changes and all had a spot it just clips on to. Did fuel pump in a 2011 535i f10, 550i 2015 f10 and a 750i 2008.

I can not find a fuel pump and strainer only for a 2011 BMW 535i XDrive. Called O’Reilly’s they only have the complete fuel pump assembly for over ($600.00) Don’t need all of that. Any suggestions please??🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Yes they are universal so you can mount them however you'd like

I'm not sure if it is the exact same process on the auto version. I don't get alot pf theses cars in very often

How did you know that it was that pump and not the high pressure fuel pump? In my f10 535, I’m getting low fuel pressure on the idrive and it doesn’t start but only cranks over. Lastweek I did recall smelling a strong gas smell in my car but went away afterwards.

@@shawnmoore927 It was the low pressure fuel pump. If that goes out, then you will be getting no startup.
Do you have to disconnect the battery when replacing the fuel pump assembly? Or is it just plug and play ?
@@ceezauto213 I hope i didnt respond too late...Yes!!! Disconnect the battery anytime you are dealing with fuel!!!
@@ceezauto213Always disconnect the battery. Aside from the fire risk, you also don't want the electronics to know you're working on the car and start throwing codes or burn out.

Same. Doesn't take much to turn a 5.3 into a ls1 displacement. Obviously it's not an aluminum block but same heads same rotating assembly aftermarket cam. Good to go makes power the same way

How has it worked
Been great Temps in the summer with 110* ambient are around 165-170. If Temps are below 85 ambient it stays around 130-145
That’s not a 5.7 that’s a 5.3 unless you swapped it
It's a 5.3 block bored .120 over with flat top ls1 pistons scat forged I beam rods 222/222 .553/.553 on a 109lsa cam with 243 ls6 shaved heads. I build motors for a living.

@@5kwattson I just ordered a 5.3 LM7 bored to a 5.7. (3.903x3.622) with Texas speed stage 2.5 ported LS6 heads and Texas speed 233/239 duration 600/600 122 LSA. Hoping to make over 450whp through a 6 speed C5

Never dynoed this one but ive built a few other almost identical clones of this one for customers all dynoed over 400whp in cars. Through a transfer case 4.56 gears and 35s in the tahoe it probably makes around 300 whp
How High has it gone?
When it was 112 out this past summer trans Temps got around 170 while towing my car trailer with a vehicle on it.

Yes it was a 5.3 I over bored the block to accept ls1 stock 3.898 pistons.
were you able to drive it like this to the tuner? or did he come to you? im in the middle of my build right now. im glad to see it will at least start and idle after bore and cam
Yes, I was able to drive it for about 40 miles to get some miles on it before getting it tuned, he was able to clear it up and it idles lot cleaner now. I do like the chop it had but it was very hard to drive like this being so heavy. I used a 4.8 stall in it since it is not a huge cam, which does make in town and freeway driving very nice. I am going to upgrade to the GM 8.1 marine injectors due to running out of fuel at like 3k rpms so currently on the break in tune it is at 98% duty on the stock injectors.

Nice do you have instagram? I want to keep up with the build. I'm also doing a LM7 build that was bored to the ls1 specs. Wiseco forged pistons, gen v rods, ported 317's with upgraded btr springs and trunion kit.

Yes I have a set of built 317 heads as well but didn't want to use them on this motor I've got a ls1 block I'm going to run a t72 on in my c10 that those are going on.
Around how much was it to get your 5.3 bored out to ls1 specs?
@@Speedy_5013 I cant remember off the top of my head but my machine shop Doug rylee perfomance said is a very common safe over bore on the 5.3 to go to ls1 3.89 stock or the common 3.905 over bore size. I've used another local shop Clovis machine for some of my bmw engines and he as well said the over bore on the stock 5.3 block to make it ls1 specs is very common hes done a ton for his customers as well with great results
