This has a beautiful asian insight. I'm bilingual. I speak English to my brother, and Cantonese with my folks. But I would never speak to my bro in canto. Its plain weird for some reason. So when she switched from when they were kids, it felt uncomfortable when she spoke English back to her again.

the way they're speaking in two different language comes across as unintentionally funny, like the white girl could have no idea what the asian girl said and vice versa, butthe conversation plays out normally anyway

Love all the detail! Somehow what captured me was the weeds on the road that I am so used to knowing in my hometown. The puddles and every crack and raindrop were a feast to the eyes, gonna watch this again!
