i know why it's not as prominent anymore but I miss long lasting sharable buffs in MMO's felt really satisfying to stack a bunch, and to share it with other people

I nearly lost my mind on this fight. We were the server first and it was an easy 2 months of banging our head against he wall on this fight due to the netcode lag.

I never got far since i chose a crafting job starting out and had no idea what i was doing.

I dunno I kinda like he grungier dark souls aesthetic.

Wow. I began playing FF14 about six months ago, and I think the current Ifrit encounter is still bare bones by today's standards. But looking at this footage makes me appreciate it way more. It has come a looong way.

Basically it's like a ffxi remake.

Replace the music with Vanguard Demon’s theme from ps3 Demon Souls and it makes a little more sense and bearable

This was just a fancier FFXI A really really far of a difference compared to post reboot FFXIV

Man. This gives more FFXI vibes to me than FFXIV. It just feels like a FFXI update. I mean. I loved FFXI, don't get me wrong, but yeah. This looks real real oof.

I know this wasn't a "good" game or whatever, but I still feel like I missed out. I started in ARR instead. Wish I had this experience, even if it was bad.

Just popped up on my feed and as someone who now has like eeeh... 7,413 hours in the game and started during heavensward, I really like the style of the chat window, party list and map.... kinda wish we could toggle these in the options to have it like here but with the speed and such from nowadays. 😲

The font is the worst thing about it. It's so cheesy.

As a long time ffxi player, all I was hoping for in 14 was 11 with better graphics. 1.0 was a good start that needed a lot of updates to be playable but it did eventually get there. Then they scrapped it and made Japanese WOW. I do enjoy 14 now dont get me wrong, but it could have been ffxi part 2 if they had done it right from the start.

You know what, I'll say it - the old-school design of having stylized UI was better than modern ones. Like Diablo 1 & 2 with their statues & health orbs on the screen, etc.

I wish I had experienced more of 1.0 as bad as it was...

I liked it better.

My main takeaway from this video is that 1.0 was a much slower paced game overall. The animations look great, though!
