Can I only do animation?
yes their website says you can do animation or any style of video youd like. some finalist vids are animation only, you should check them out !
Are past achievements taken into account while selection ?
Hi, Amber. I saw your advice videos and original video. Was hoping if you could review my submission for Breakthrough junior challenge 2024. It would really mean a lot if you share your advice. ua-cam.com/video/AByVSpYK8xY/v-deo.htmlsi=mlrG_TGcK7TiR1dl
can we hire editors?
Fantastic explanation! Great energy. Hope the UA-cam algorithm kicks in and gets you more views. You deserve it
Hi Amber, do you think Is drugs effects on brain an acceptable topic?
Hello Where can i download premium pro imovie PowerPoint? I didn't find any of them
Thanks a lot you're such a lifesaver
Thank you so much for this Amber❤️🙏🏻
Oohhhh!!! Thanks ... I've struggled to understand this in a simple way. Now it all makes sense
Hello there! I'm attending this year and I have a question. Are competitors informed about whether they have passed at each stage of the competition? For example, I am now not notified of the Evaluation panel review phase and whether I have passed the Administrative review. Does the Breakthrough Junior Challenge only inform the finalists when the time comes? Thank you!!
Thank you so much Amber 💓
Hi Amber! Are we allowed to use 5 seconds of a movie clip (it’s a fairly old movie, 1947) in our video submission, or would that be considered copyright infringement? In my video it is for a comic releif moment, but I don’tvwant to get disqualified. Thanks for your input!

Thank you so much! You are a huge inspiration to me!
This was so encouraging, motivating and comforting at the same time! Thank you so much for sharing these great tips. I absolutely loved this video and you have such a great personality!!
Thank you!!
Good luck to everyone competing! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks a lot for the tips, Amber!!❤
If I apply this year ? ( I'm 16) Can I apply next year ? I mean twice?
Yes you can
Why it is 3 mins . When I saw requirements, it was 1min 30 seconds.?
Last year it was 3 min
It used to be 5 minutes a few years ago
Hi Amber. I've a question. So, I've not a teacher. I study by myself. Should I find teacher for this challenge? Maybe , If somebody won without teacher . That won't be a problem to the final conference .Yeah ?
Does anyone know why they shortened the deadline lol
It has been in June for years now
When do they ask for reference lists?
Hi Amber! Congratulations on winning the Breakthrough Junior Challenge 2021. I am participating in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge this year. So, if you don't mind, can you please share your email address? This way it will be easier for me to ask you certain questions that I have.
hi amber! did you ask for feedback or advice from your teachers when making the video? not necessarily having their own input into the video, but what they thought about it
I've been so busy this year and now there's only 20 days left, I think I'm submitting an edited version of my vid from last year haha
Good luck!! I’m sure you have more than enough time if you manage your time. Don’t give up!!
I didn’t know of the challenge til’ yesterday 😂😂
@@milkyx9124 hm maybe i'll have time to make a new one. you do too if you're interested!
nah im sticking to shortening my old one lol
Hello can i know your facebook?
What do I do if all of my ideas are taken? This is especially common in physics, do I just do another subject?
Hi! There aren’t any rules that I’m aware of for explaining the same topic as others - if it's one that interests you, you can definitely explore it! But if you'd feel more comfortable finding another one, you can definitely do so too! Just make sure that your video and explanations are uniquely yours!
Thanks for sharing these great tips! Your advice is super helpful. I'm eagerly awaiting your next video. You're awesome!
I have already written my script... only ONE problem I cannot shorten it to one min 30 sec. It is currently at 3 47 sec. Got any tips?
I also had this problem because the challenge is now shortened to 90 seconds instead of 3 minutes. Unfortunately, the practical solution is to cover your main points in depth and briefly summarize anything extra.
Ok, thanks!
Cover main points in depth, summarize anything extra
I was wondering if it is mandatory to show your face in front of the camera?.. Thanks in advance...
Hey! No it's not mandatory to show your face in front of the camera!
Hi Amber, does the topic have to be proven? Or can it be hypothetical
Hey!! I think that as long as it is well-established in the scientific community (not largely debated topics, such as time travel or wormholes), it may be alright. You can always ask Breakthrough if you're still unsure about your topic!
Thank you!!! Congrats again on winning!
Thank you for the elaboration, Amber! I was wondering, how long after submission were you asked for the reference list?
Hi Rayyann! They usually get asked for in the Verification round.
@@AmberKwok So during the Administrative Review?
Hey Amber! I wanted to ask, what if my topic fits more of a chemistry (forensic science) area, do I select the life sciences option for my video?
Breakthrough’s FAQ has a section where they mention how to approach chemistry-related topics. But from what I understood about your topic, life sciences is a possible category option.
This is also a good entryua-cam.com/video/RBIBcRml12c/v-deo.html
Yes really its good
Good
thank you for this, Amber! ❤ how long did it take to finish filming + editing your entry last year?
Hey Dee! The whole process of finding a topic, researching, writing the script, filming, editing, etc took me around 6 weeks:)
@@AmberKwok HeHe.... I am going to attempt to do it all in 12 days......At least i know a ton about the topic which I will be explaining :)
Amber, this video will be super helpful for me. Thanks for the motivation!
Good luck!! I’m entering too :)
Hey Amber, I have a question! Since the new time limit this year is 90 seconds, what's your advice on conveying a big science idea under that time limit? My biggest worry is that I might overwhelm or confuse my audience because I might add too much information with the short amount of time I have. Thanks!
You can read about your topic until you fully understand it, then try focusing on key ideas within your topic. This may help you ensure that you don’t overwhelm or confuse the audience with too much information:)
@@AmberKwok thank you!! I had no idea they shortened the time 😭
Thanks Amber!
Why don't you make more videos...i am very attracted by your channel...i am gonna subscribe u ...also present your video in my college...bestie saved my life...☺️
O my goshhh ....you are awesome ☺️...no words I have ❤️
