He made it look so easy. My throat hurts just trying to sing it.

When you listen to the studio cut of this song you're like... "Wow! This guy has an amazing voice." But in the back of your head you wonder how much of it was compressed and doctored. Then you hear the live version and realize that, nope, it was 100% Layne pouring out... And in fact the studio cut doesn't do him justice. Listen to "Rooster" with Layne's vocals isolated. Absolutely haunting how well he could sing.
