My wife and I just spent 2 weeks there . Nov 30 to Dec 13 . We saw 9 markets all together . Big ones to small ones Munich , Nuremberg ,Heidelberg ,Koln , and some smaller ones . I lived in Germany from 1983 to 1988 and loved every minute of it . back then one of the biggest complaints Americans had was how the Germans would walk through a store or market and just stop right in the middle of things . So the mass of people would have to make the flow go around them . I never saw it until this trip , they are so good at how they drive on the road . But nuts on how they walk in mass . My wife who is 69 yrs old had to elbow someone in the mouth because she was getting pushed so bad from behind In Munich . There is no moving on the right or left just a mass moving in one direction and another mass moving in the other direction . Then there is the group who then stops in the middle of all this . Guess what happens then behind the mass . We will never go back to a big city market again . Just like we will never go back to Macys parade in New York City . My wife is short and did not see anything but the backs of the people in front of us . The German's drive great on the road but suck when walking in mass . I would move there in a second to live but not in a city .

Try Troodos Cyprus. True the season is short but the Beach around Limassol is only 30 minutes drive away. u=on is short
You could add that the snow skiing centre at Troodos is actually run by the Royal Air Force who have a radar unit on the top of the mountain but they make everybody welcome at the ski-centre.
