Is tapping dash in the Protest City helicopter actually faster than holding it?

There is just no literature for this game anywhere that I can find, and the game itself doesn't do the best job explaining its mechanics. I've picked a few things up by watching videos of speedruns, but that's about it. I haven't been able to pull of a magnet dash once yet and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I can't imagine being able to do it consistently at high speed.

Oh dang, I didn’t even realize that this speedrun is fresh out of the oven! (2 hours as of writing) I hope to check out the new and improved run eventually. 🥛

Some feedback: you should buy jester swipe early, it help a lot on lost Riviera, since you can jump off the rail and then jester swipe back on it, and it reqards you with a lot of speed. I also think you should avoid stages that involve a lot of fighting and collecting, since it slows you down, maybe it's possible since you don't need to collect all of the freedom medals. Still, I liked your speedrun a lot. Great job! P.S. : Spark is faster than the car.

Really appreciate this video, might use some of these techs on my challenge playthrough of the game! Do you think you could do a guide on the different forms and good uses of their abilities and charge attacks? I've read that some charge attacks are useful for platforming (as your video also seems to indicate), but I never even knew they existed when I played through the game.
