Paragliding - Travel Vlogs & Reviews
Travel and Paragliding is my passion!
Paragliding is a steep learning curve, and I understand that not everyone has the ideal support network to help them get into the sport and stay in it. It's my aim, to create a platform where people are never judged for asking questions or sharing their mistakes. While there are plenty of professional channels out there, I want to give novices a voice and do my bit to help the average pilot on their journey, as I share my experiences along the way.
If you're new to the channel and you enjoy the content, please help me out by hitting the like, subscribe and notification button!
I would love to dedicate myself to the channel full time, but I need your help to do it! :)

Kayaking the Upper Murray - Towong to Jingellic
Nice filming - great weather. The Dunes, where?
What risers are that? Hmmm...
@@wanderflieger R07’s
Life is short so make it a priority to enjoy some of it. - My sentiments exactly, thanks for sharing.
Nice job. I am a local hang glider pilot and regularly fly these sites. Also Blueys north end in a southerly. Ping me if you are flying in the area. Also I have the key for access up to Booti take off. Always like to have company.
Thanks mate, sounds brilliant.
Is this site managed by a club?
are you in Bali Dave?
@@rizman6053 No sadly
@@AussieDangerDave okay, i thought you also offer paragliding in Bali (feel safer for me to try)
Bastard
Yeah buddy...................
Cathie Dunes, Dave? And all to yourself? Looks beautiful!
@@Flyingbiker01 Yup 😀
Wow, such a landing.
@Damonpuss Wind was dying off but I certainly milked it for all it was worth, lol
Magic ❤❤❤
Fantastic section of dunes!
@@ab_actual It is :) Looooove it
Have you flown Booti or Seal Rocks? I will be in Forster in October, so may see you that way.
@christophermiller353 Not yet mate, but not from a lack of trying! Hopefully see you in Oct - keep me posted :)
I will be in forster 6 till 10th Oct. Hopefully good flying conditions. Been absolutely crap flying around Melbourne for while.
@christophermiller353 I'll mark it on my calendar. Work and weather pending I'll hopefully join you.
Great info Dave - its been on my 'I'll do that one day' list for years, appreciate it!
@ab_actual Glad you found it helpful! Thanks :)
Just bought myself an Arrow as well. How are you finding it? Out of interest - Where are you potting your radio?
@BrynPrice I just leave mine inside the cockpit, close the lid and clip the mic on to the front top side of it. I'll have to do my 6 month review of it soon
sitting in Melbourne tying to find the way to indian head.
@sduru Quite a long way from Melbourne sadly. But if it's just beautiful scenery you're after, you always have Wilsons Prom and Halls Gap (Grampians).
Nice , good song - Will Harrison Baptized & Buried:)
Indian head is my favourite place to fly on the MNC. Especially when conditions allow you to fly around the headland…
@mitchamus Yeah, that head land is nuts hey!
I'm looking at getting my first Flight Deck. I was curious if they (flight decks in general) attach to your belt like a fanny pack or do they attach to your glider harness?
@tzgardner It varies depending on the harness and the cockpit, but generally they connect to your caribiners or the webbing below. Eg. I found the charly better through the webbing on my success 4 harness. I do like the lighter weight and softer materials of the supair myself.
Anyone able to compare it with the Tenor (1 or 2)?
@sebastiennoir9758 Tenors are a bit more rolley and playful apparently, and yet the beat (particularly the beat 2) provide more feedback (hence Beat 2 not recommended as a first wing) and have slightly better performance in general. Can't compare from experience but that's the general gist of what I've heard if that helps at all. Another thing is the standard versions of both have the option for the comfort risers which are more chunky and easier to manage on launch, so that might be something to consider between the light and standard versions. Quite a few riser options with PHI as a brand, including the R07's.
Tenor 2 light rolls more than the Beat 2 light. Tenor is also a lot more responsive on the brakes compared to Beat. I will keep my Tenor for messing around and consider a Beat for XC
Nice review, looking forward to test the wing
Since I realised I don't look at my wing during xc flight, I care less about design. I fly Beat 1 and i love it. My next wing will be Phi for sure.
Seeing how beautiful the handling is, I may well do the same :)
Same here! Beat is great wing. I was reborn on that machine :) I gave him a nickname
@@roberthodzic Which is?
The design of the beat 2 was for me a dealbreaker.
@ihtam634 What a bummer, it's such a beautiful wing to fly. Advance Theta also looks good.
What don't you like about the design?
Great video! Enjoyed the unboxing one as well. And agree on the aesthetics. Not sure what's going on in the Phi design studio but they really need an artistic intervention.
Hi Dave! so cool to see a small remix of my Symphonia 2 spiral video in your edit haha :) Definitely I would have preferred the Beat 1 design to remain as is with new colors rather than this weirdness. How about thermals, have you also tried it in non coastal soaring but rather mountain thermalling conditions ? I'm considering it as an upgrade. In coastal soaring I guess you could go on an EN-C without too much trouble and have the same kind of review results especially in light winds...
Hey mate! Lovely spirals, thank you! Sadly being winter I've had zero chance for any thermalling however the legends at FlyBubble have so check out their review for a bit of feedback on that. What I can say is I like the brake pressure, the increase in speed and usability on the speed bar compared to my old low b hook 5 and the glide does seem excellent. It's a lovely "feeling" wing and a pleasure to fly all be it with a wrap because the lines are long. No one should be accidentally stalling this thing lol Depending on your skill level and experience it's a very stable/reassuring wing, but if you want that extra performance on bar and xc is your primary focus than a high B might be a better choice. I primarily fly coastal and rarely get the chance to fly xc so it's perfect for me. If you're cranking those spirals like that though you're probably good for a high B lol
@@AussieDangerDave thanks man ! I did see their reviews, not bad at all !
@alex-in-the-sky Sounds like a machine for thermalling. I recall them even mentioning the leading edge penetration into thermals being similar to a C class. Can't wait to hit Manilla next season.
@@AussieDangerDave happy flights and safe landings! When you do don't hesitate to share more about the wing!
I lived in Bali for a while. Back home now and almost done with my paragliding license. Can't wait to go fly there. I used to drive my bike to Timbis and watch them launch. Thanks for the cool informational video!!!
You're very welcome, thanks :) It's such a great feeling flying places we know well for the first time. Its going to be magical when you do!
A wing for all conditions and pilots ✌️
❤
Wow that looks like a lot of fun and amazing views
Looks like a nice wing choice my friend. I will enjoy watching you grow.
Da ya perhaps plan one flight this year with this wing 🤔😂😁

Hi dave i met you today
Hey there! Really nice meeting you today and what a beautiful site hey :) As mentioned, if you're keen on having a joy flight (tandem), check out High Adventure or Cloudbase (both local schools). They're generally living it up in Bali during our winters though
First flight on the Beat 2 Light today! Brake pressure feels fantastic and honestly just a brilliant sweet spot. Short video on www.facebook/AussieDangerDave
The repair kit and the harmonica are default features, the tshirt is not 😅
Must be a pre order bonus lol. T shirt is super comfy though ,much like the wing which I finally got to fly today :)
@@AussieDangerDave it's an Australian bonus from the importer.
Id like to see it fly. I have one on order. Love to hear what ya recon to it.
Can't wait to fly it myself! Sadly the weather hasn't given me the chance yet :( I'll be sure to whip up an update on FB as soon as I do.
