I am basically a Mechanical Engineer, i have read an article that motivated me to share knowledge for upcoming engineers to enhance.

Special Purpose Machine Design, Jig & Fixture Design, Machine Design,
Sheet metal Enclosure Design, Plastic Enclosure Design,

if the drawing format specify IT12, can i use a looser or tighter tolerance than IT 12 ? Thanks

Transition fit has either minimum clearance or minimum interference 1:37
Transition fit: Hole = Shaft, It has maximum clearance or maximum interference only.
Fine manufacturing, Medium manufacturing, Rough Manufacturing kudukkalaam appadinnu namma eppadi bro deside panrathu.

Sir why must it be tolerance divide by 2? Could it be +0 for lower limit and +0.1mm for upper limit? Thank you.
Glad for your valuable comment ! We are not only using unilateral tolerance, also using bilateral tolerance. (Depends upon fit the tolerance may vary). This video explains about the tolerance given in ISO 286 standard chart. Here I want to show you, how the tolerance value is calculated. But you need not to calculate all these things.

If we want a clearance fit, we should make the hole within the limit.In the example of spindle, is it within 0.242-0.080 mm ?
Clearance fit: We should make the hole and spindle(shaft) within the limit. Maximum clearance: Difference between maximum size of hole & minimum size of shaft = 50.062 - 49.820 = 0.242 mm Minimum clearance: Difference between minimum size of hole & maximum size of shaft = 50.000 - 49.920 = 0.080 mm Note: It may be vary depends up on the applications and the size of the dimensions.
