Fellas, I don't understand how you began this episode. You both wanted Dallas to re-sign Prescott. You can argue all you want about how the salary cap doesn't matter, but you also know the cowboys will use it as an excuse not to spend on defensive players especially the defensive line. So Prescott has to start fast in order to secure and maintain a lead. He rarely ever has. So now you can never consistently get ahead in games, especially good teams. You also do not have the defensive line and players to play physical and defend the run. Finally Prescott has consistently showed he isn't good enough to make a difference in the style of play needed to win against good teams. Why did you want Prescott re-signed and how does that position align with your comments on this episode?

This is by far the most informative breakdown of this Cowboy's defense I have ever seen. I follow both of yall on Twitter, but never knew about this channel until now. It's hard to listen to other creators break down what went wrong in this game now that yall broke down the fundamental reasons. Too many casuals masquerading as knowledgeable haha.

You guys are the Best! love the fact you can get out to the left Coast and see them Boys in camp! Would love to see some collabs with Marcus and Landon and you two. You'd save me some time from having to listen to both casts. 🤣 Re: Guyton, I'd say it's probably both, he feels more natural at left (I believe he played there in HS) and doesn't have the additional years of bad habits.

I don't know if you guys check comments but a quick question. Can the cowboys organization pay for their players private coaching. So like are they able to pay for the months that guyton just spent with big duke. Love the show!

Its a lot easier to replace Ceedee Lamb then it is to replace Dak Prescott.

Hey guys, just found your channel. I'm a Boys fan of many decades. My question is about the cap and the 3 contracts. In 2025, OTC is showing the Boys to have about $65M in cap space. This includes not a single QB, no CeeDee Lamb, but does include Micah Parsons. There are a lot of bottom of the roster players, not so many starter level players. I struggle to see how the Boys can sign even Dak, much less all three, and fit it into the 2025 cap reasonably. If the Boys use the same way of spreading out a new Dak contract they did with the previous one, using 5 years and assuming a $60M/yr average, I think they would still use $26M of the 2025 cap just for Dak. Then you have the tag amount for CeeDee, I forgot the exact number but I think its almost $20M. I don't see many big contracts to restructure in 2025, players to cut, etc., plus they have the rest of the roster to fill out. Still, using the same formula for the new contract as the old, Dak's cap hit peaks in the 4th year at over $83M dollars. Technically, they can do this, but they would get Dak and still have a roster full of low dollar players in 2025. Adding CeeDee and Micah might push Dak's cap hit in the peak year to $100M or so. I'd like to see someone show my how they Boys fit in these contracts into 2025 without having crazy numbers on the cap in the following years. Also, I don't see why they would pay Dak or CeeDee without the other. The Boys are going to crash in 2025, fine, what I don't understand at all is why they didn't trade any players before the draft. Tank and Zak, Dak, CeeDee and Micah could have landed them a ton of picks in 2026, when they can get a new QB and start with a clean cap. I think they might have got at a 1st round pick for Dak, I think he'd agree to the new team doing that if he got his new $60M contract. Anyway, I see folks talking about these new deals, but I'd like folks to look at what happens in 2025 and beyond to the cap if the Boys do sign these players. Thanks

If you sign those three players it will cost at minimum 130 million a year. The current cap situation is 258 million. It will only leave 138 million for the other 50 players on your roster. Not much to pay the other men on the roster. Blame your owner for procrastinating, back loading contracts, and borrowing from contracts. You're gonna lose CD lamb. It's not gonna be Dak, what current available quarterback is better than him? He's not parting ways with micah parsons. CD Will be the odd man out. I've heard the cowboys will trade CD to the browns for Amari Cooper and a first round draft choice. Good luck with your upcoming seaon

I don't know of anyone mad at CeeDee for holding out or Micah for that matter. MIcah has always skipped voluntary OTAs. I think people are just concerned he talks about leading and then didn't show up. But the problem we are having now is some content creators are laying the blame of players holding out on Zack Martin! They are saying if you let one, then you are setting a precedence for others. What are your thoughts on this? I am pretty shocked by this and hate that Zack is getting thrown under the bus for doing what he thought was right and fair for him at the time, as well as any other players. But apparently he is starting all the big holdouts that are coming because he held out on a contract other than his first contract and a no one trashed him for doing it?!? Your thoughts please!

Still rehabbing that should is all the more reason for the FO to go out and get a veteran DI. Luckily we have a strong TE room with Schoon, but I am worried about him. I was in a chat talking about Mazi and someone replied to me and said Mazi and Schoon both came out of Michigan on steroids and they both had to get off of them and it's been tough with Mazi's weight and both have had injuries. What are your thoughts on this?

  • @ForeverDC_

That leadership conversation Micah and CeeDee had with each other on Micah's podcast was just talk. Neither one have leadership traits, which isn't saying anything bad about them, some people do and some people don't, but they are too into themselves and not so much into the team which makes it difficult to lead, or even talk about leading. If you really want to be a leader, then you need to be there as their veteran leader. Choosing not to be there speaks volumes, especially with a BRAND NEW defense and defensive coaching staff, but again, not everyone has leadership traits and that's okay but then stop talking about it. It's difficult though when only 1 out of your top 3 players are leading this team and we wonder why we have a culture problem.

He's Baaaaaccckkk! Totally agree, Zeke will be great in the locker room, as well as mentoring, short yardage and rush blocking. I also agree DT/DI is the most important position to bring in a quality veteran FA. Steele will be fine. He came back too soon from the ACL and you could tell he had a problem planting that leg. He is going to feed off the violent and nasty energy Beebe and Guyton are going to bring! Politics guys...No way Guyton doesn't play LT...That would mean JJ & SJ would have to admit they were wrong. JOEY...STOP trying to get rid of Steele! You guys are getting more people in the Chat, important you answer some of their questions too. Also, if Micah is honest about how he wants to work hard and get better, then he should thrive with tough coaching instead of being coddled...I guess we'll see!

There was a lot of debate before they picked Marist as well as Carson. It looked like Al Harris was fighting for Carson, also a ST player. 4 players on Offense and 4 players on Defense with an emphasis on the Trenches! It's been a while since we focused so many players on the Trenches and I loved it! When they interviewed each player they all said either Nasty or Violent when they talked about their play. Been waiting for that Violent & Nasty attitude for a while too. Still need a veteran DT/DI FA, imo, as well as a veteran RB. I wish/hope they would bring back Gilly but it doesn't look like they are...A mistake imo. I am glad about bringing back Zeke. He can still contribute. I believe Freeman played a lot of ST with the Rams too. All in all, I like the picks and look forward to camp! Always like listening to you guys...Keep it going!

Lord help us if they take Guyton anywhere in this draft!! I feel they need 5 quality plug and play players in the top 100-150 in this draft in order to stay above water! My favorite pick after moving back to 28-33 would be Frazier as well and I really don't care if "they" say it's a reach. I miss Fred...and want a true C. Not a G or T that plays a little C or wants to play C. No dollar store C or UDFA or wannabe C or CWill coming back...A REAL C who has been playing the position and knows the ends and outs of the position, who knows what he's looking for, who is comfortable and confident at the position, who knows how to lead and communicate and even more importantly a violent and nasty leader who wants to take your face off! A game changer...An OL changer! I don't think I'm asking too much!🤣Enjoy your content and will continue to tune in! C,OT,LB,DT,RB,WR,DE,CB Preferably a veteran DI/DT.

Really enjoyed it guys! Liked the picks...wondering if 44 was a little too far back. I hate missing on Frazier, although I really like BeeBe...never thought of him as a C! My only concern is there really isn't time to have a player who needs time to learn a position. Thoughts on what kind of time Beebe would need to be able to play the position with confidence and also possibly using the later R5/6/7 to move up into R4?

Joey, I don’t agree with your opinion of 2024 and 2025 cap implications and also feel we’re missing the main point of Jones’s actions. You’re expecting the Cowboys to add Prescott’s current Cap debt of 90+ million (2024 and 2025 cap amounts) to an extension to have occurred 2 months ago of 180 million for say three years 2025, 2026, and 2027. This would mean cap hits of 65 million for Prescott for 2024, 25, 26, and 27 without dummy years. I just don’t think that’s tenable. Adding dummy years delays the cap hit to future years but they need to add in new contracts for Lamb and others. (I do not agree to re-sighing Parsons). Rather than spending energy on the cap, we should recognize that the Cowboys brass doesn’t believe Prescott’s good enough to keep delaying the cap hit even though Jerry says he thinks Prescott is capable of a Championship. The latter is the main point and all the Prescott cap discussion just a distraction.
