Just a quick dialogue piece I did. It's a simple quick scene in her between Samantha and Theodore.

The Power of a Letter

A 10 shot film I completed for my production class. I could only use ten shots and no sound to tell a story. This is what I did. Sometimes it's easier to write something than say it.

Song Without Words- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky This is the first time I have ever uploaded a video of me playing piano. This is the piece I played at my first College Recital. I played for almost 10 years and then took a decent break so I had to relearn a lot. But yeah some mistakes, but I am happy with it!
Mom? They are the same age…
Why they made Ellie black 😭
This was a very, good adaptation. Everyone did a good job. The guy who played Arnold Friend was amazing!
Jesus saves ❤
The laughing really irks me
12:25 “are you deaf” was so funny Bahahahaha I died. Such a good actor
Not the killers playing bahahahahah
Arnold character well played by Luke Brett. I've seen several versions of this short film and this one complicates the character of Arnold Friend a little more than I've noticed in any other adaptation. This one was more openly creepy with a dangerous edge likely due more to his egotistical and possessive nature. I have to say it put me on edge watching their interaction, which would have been better if Jo Kinkade had played Connie with a little more fear and passion. She didn't convince even me that she didn't want to go with him, but I still felt sorry for her situation and would not have wanted to trade places with her.
Connie is gorgeous
Well done. Arnold is so confident, young female moves her character from overconfident, defiant, to obedient. Finally submits. Arnold is true evil in plain view. I have been close to this edge myself Being able to bolt was crucial to my survival as I saw the attack coming.
He’s a total dork what are you talking about
www.germmagazine.com/the-continuation-of-us-by-jo-kinkade/ If you want to keep look for Jo Kinkade's work
I know this may sound stupid, but this must've been shot in the Midwest.
We were students at a college in Ohio. So you would be right!
If this man was at my door I would have shot his ass
Thought Connie wad blonde
W P she is
Pancakes dry as a bih! 🥵
It weirds me out the girl playing the mother is waaay too young. The other woman at the table (sister, I think she was) was closer to the right age. Did Arnold take an Uber? Not getting that part...kind of needs a cool car. Hard to be impressive with a grey Corolla. He's also too young to have that super-cool vibe that would impress a young girl. A bit more work on the accent, it's not grabbing me personally. Also, I'm bothered by the microphones picking up air conditioning and traffic noises. Very distracting. The movies never use the actual audio. That's all post (post-production). So. You'd record them lip synching themselves, and add traffic noise on another track. Or if in the house, you can add birds/outside noise so it doesn't sound "too clean." Need the right "air" sound. Because it's supposed to be a house, not a recording booth. On thing that bothers me in movies is the wrong starter or engine noise for that car. Like a Harley starter to demonstrate a car starting. Or lack of plane or engine sounds. The way to go would be, if you insist on using live audio, a Rode with the ball you can use as a shotgun (mono, to get rid of outside noise) or stereo configuration. You'd use stereo say when filming a band live. You'd want more room noise. Would work on several decent cameras that aren't horrifically expensive now. Clips on the hot shoe on top.
I thought they did an excellent job. I’m a film major from SDSU. I remember what is was like making student films. We had big dreams but a small budget. Kudos to everyone who made this film.
This would have been a lot better if they showed the scene where she went out with her friends and Arnold saw her at the bottle shaped restaurant.
We wanted to! But being college students with no budget when we made this we had to make some sacrifices.
Too funny....thanks ...lol
One of my favorite short stories. The actors did a great job and I was thoroughly creeped just like every time I read it. Not exactly the car I imagined though :)
Yes, I agree. The car was wrong.
how could you resist that new paint job on the corolla
Car should be gold, it is a huge metaphor in the development in the story. But great work all around!
Really good job by everybody
the guy who does arnold is a pretty good actor
ya'll this is amazing! great job!!!
Amazing job!!
He's listening to the killers he must be cool
anyone else getting JD and Veronica Vibes from this?
Muffins 362 AAAHHH YESSS
This guy is a good actor. He captured the creepiness of Arnold Friend really well. The girl's acting got really good too once she started interacting with Friend.
Great job everyone! i just read the story and this helped me to imagine it...
NAILED IT! Connie and Arnold were perfect. Great job! Might have liked to see the burger joint scene, but then I realized this was a modern take. I also liked the used of "pseudo" old music, like was mentioned in the book, that used to be cool.
The Arnold Friend performance is truly spectacular. You've got every bit of it pitch perfect.
Great c:
Excuse me sir, which way to Dave Mathews? I think I'm lost.
I enjoyed this video. I read the story back in college and it has always stuck with me. The guy as Arnold was a great actor... and Connie...wow...What a Looker.
+crazyleg2006 THANK YOU!
Low shots give that hepless effect you guys should of flipped the way you shot your characters.
this was awesome! i dont have to read the story. Connie is cute
In the book june is not as attractive as connie , why the heck is june 100x more attractive then connie
+KaylaAndDes Peoplez all these unnecessary comments. how about just appreciating the play they organized?
That's a matter of taste. I thought Connie was perfect, especially all that long hair, just like in the story.
That guy is a great Arnold Friend!! Kudos!
Rain Navarro Thank you!
Rain Navarro I agree
Guy playing Arnold did a great job.
ViralBuzzMedia Thank you!
Solid performance by Luke Brett.
