Nice to see you like it. I am getting the same exact reel gear ratio and everything except it is the left hand model and it is the JDM version which is getting shipped overseas. Only is some cosmetic coloring on some of the metal on the reel. For my rod I am getting a Phenix Feather which is one of the lightest rods I could find on the market. So overall it is gonna be one light setup.
I don’t like a 8.1:1 reel for jerkbaits . Because I feel like if I’m not careful I will retrieve my line to quick and work the bait with my reel.

I have the exact reel in left hand 8.1-1 and I find never go lower that 5 on the breaks, I believe 4 and lower on that particular reel is free spool. I love my reel. Sold my Curado DC to buy it. The Curado DC was too heavy and bulky, it was smooth but I didn’t like the weight and the feel.
I’m looking at the Diawa tatula Tw SV 103 and also the Curado DC ., you own both of these reels and could you please let me know if you could only own one reel for all purposes. Thank you. Cory

Just got an SLX DC and I am pumped to try it. Thoughts after one year or so of that Ark? I’m actually looking for a single-hook reaction lure rod and I saw someone mention this one online as relatively stout and thus a good option. I like the 7’ length and light weight as I fish from kayak. Ever use it for anything other than shallow cranks? Thanks!
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try that combo since I made that video. New baby and moving to a new house, so its been busy. I will be fishing again in a few weeks (finally) and I'll be able to go out on a regular basis. I also kayak fish, so I may make a follow up video after I use this combo on different baits.

Arks are good , Fitzgerald rods the Brain thrift series makes awsome rods especially if your fishing from a kayak bc his rods are from 6 '3" to 7 plus , All I fish is Ark and Fitzgerald rods .
Mine are set at six and seven! No thumbing no back lash. 1/8 to 1/4 oz weight.
Daiwa make fantastic reels. Very solid and durable.

I have the mojo bass 7'1" MEDIUM with the tatula sv tw103xs 2017 model the purple accents go nice with the rod 😀 j/k the review I seen with Oklahoma worst fishing is the reason I went with the 2017 model.

How have you been liking the battletek rod?
I liked the feel of it, but I haven't been able to use it since this video unfortunately. A baby boy has been keeping me busy, but I hope to get on the water soon and test out all of my new setups.
@@oFLATSMASTERo I remember those days. I only had one, pretty much for that reason. I just ordered the 7'1" mh battletek to go with the tatula elite. It's for kayak fishing river smallmouth, so I'll see how it does. Tight lines.

That has the zero adjuster, it's set from the factory your only supposed to adjust the brakes
I'm aware, but I felt like adjusting it. Some people still adjust it if they don't like where it's set.
I was gonna get the zillion but it was all sold out. Or the alphas sv tw but that was sold out too

What part of the river do you kayak fish I want to start fishing the river with my kayak but I don’t know how to go about cause I know the river Thrs parts that’s dangers
I put in at Northumberland and fished structures with spinnerbaits, swimbaits, and 5inch stick baits fished weedless. Caught 5 that day, lost 1, and saw 6 that didn't want anything I threw. Northumberland is going to be getting more shallow, because they are putting the dam down.
Also im not sure what area you're in, so I would suggest calling your local bait shop and asking where its safest to launch in your area this time of year.

I'm in a bunch of fishing groups on Facebook and it sounds like there a bunch of people that fish the river down there and are doing well. Good luck and stay safe
