Yes Ma'am is a unique and killer string band that often plays on Royal Street in New Orleans, their sound is amazing! This is New Orleans baby!!!
The "usual suspects" in Jackson Square , guest star Dr. Love

I hadn't seen Dr. Love in quite some time and just a few days ago I wondered what happened to him...There he was, in da Square in better shape than ever and with a bigger smile than ever!

Sallie Ann Glassman - Bayou St John's Headwashing Ceremony. Sorry about the shakiness of the video but I never plan on shooting motion and I never have my tripod with me...However I thought it would have been interesting to watch anyway.

Handheld, and shaky as you can tell I' m not video pro...Hopefully it'll give you hint of what it feels like to be hanging out in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Shotgun Jazz Band. © 2012 Pompo Bresciani www.nolaPIC.com

Great music😅 Greeting from Germany ❤
Yes! 😂
😊 great
Nice! ❤
🧘♀️
I love this band, but being a Brit, I find the Deep South accent hard to decipher - does anyone have the lyrics to this song ?
Wow
The highlight of the band is the sigarret girl.
That's Dizzy Incirlioglu, who now plays with the Shake 'Em Up band, sometimes with Tuba Skinny, can be seen elsewhere, as in superbands ... one of the best.
Is it OK to mention I love Marla Dixon?
A great, different, kind of dreamy, improvisation on what I believe is one of Marla's favourites.
Bruh wtf she doing she can’t even trace a veve
I love the way this was filmed. Great filter. It looks like a 1920’s camera lens and faded color. Beautiful!
Love Songs of the Nile. I have an original of this great old song by Bille and De De Pierce,Marla playing makes my hair stand up, the band is beyond description, off the planet, they are just wonderful, This 'Shotgun Version is one of the finest I have heard, played with feeling Chris Johnsons sax is, WOW as are all the other musicians in this fine New Orleans Band.Thank you Guys and 'Gal'.
nice video
Buy our brand new album "bless this Mess" New yes maam album available here yesmaam.bandcamp.com/ Thanks for the support!
The great Marl Dixon on Trumpet & vocals and also great to see Ewan Bleach on Clarinet.
Shotgun Jazz Band: "Joe Avery's Pliece" Marla Dixon, trumpet, vocals Ewen Bleach, clarinet Christopher Johnson, sax John Dixon, banjo Robin Rapuzzi, washboard.
Muito bom, Feras.
We were in New Orleans last week, and saw these guys on Royal Street. So much fun! Can't wait to go back!
ahhh the black-headed girl... the one who got away...
Where is the black-headed girl that played the wash-tub bass?
I miss that dark haired girl also - great smile, and energy. She really had style which made her fun to watch. The sounds and rhythms she got out of that washtub bass were amazing. I haven't been able to find her anywhere on the web except one video with the Drunken High Rollers but I can't even find out her name. Somebody called her "rasta girl" on a Yes Ma'am video. Benjamin Asher is the excellent upright string bass player and he's more versatile with it, so it' makes sense that he's with them, but she was great. Wish I could find out who she's playing with now.
Marathonracer Her name is Rachel Severance, I found her on face-book She is a Bartender in Burlington Vt., just got engaged . I think she is really cute, and love to see her play. She played with a number of bands, The 9th ward jug stompers and others
Likewise, I have been trying to find out who she is playing with now. Like her style.
There are several vids of her playing withe this group on here.
The tune is called 'Joe Avery's Piece'.
I love Sallie Ann Glassman. :)
The title of the song is 'Love Songs of the Nile'.
Very good, Brian. I gotta remember that the next time you ask yourself a question, your gonna answer it! Haha
On the washboard player question: yes he is also a player in Tuba Skinny.
Yes Robin Rapuzzi
I think you did a great job! I saw the Shotgun Jazz Bank in April 2012 and bought their CD. I must say they're better live than on the CD: the gal's voice on the CD sounded as if it was miles away, but the instruments were great.
yes
do the clarinet and washboard players come from tuba skinny?
love it miss ya pete hope you get to come to halifax this year
just so fine...
Thank you! :)
