No one said Thank you? Well, I will! 😙😙
I play this game and these videos really help cause I am very new to video games. Thx! I do love the game. It is more fun watching these videos and then playing for a while after, quite kind to make these. 🥰
I just started this game! I am obsessed
How could we have split from apes if there are still apes?
Hi, Do wooden paths represent an improvement or are they just aesthetic?
You can place down wooden paths in an effort to decide routes as tribe will then choose them wherever possible, and they will also walk faster when on them 🙂
Do they pray alone or do I need to assign a group to a relic?
They pray alone, no need for assigning anything 🙂
03:30 the square is the same up north and down south, the difference is because the map stretches hard the more up North you go. Mercator projection is a thing. Kudos to the devs who implemented it right.
Perfect!
I started in Ireland as a beginner. Doh!
How to lock storage please?
My gates are open, how do you close them?
They cannot be closed atm, but it will come, they are automatically letting all in tribe plus livestock through, so no wild animals can enter.
Thanks Lily
Thyank you Lilly, most helpful.
wait will this be included in the next content update or has already been made public?
It is published already! 😊
@@LadyLillyNonice when I play again I will no longer have to starve the tribe to keep numbers low
YEESSS FINALLY
I play this game now 900 hours, since i bought it, juli 23 2024. I like the game very much. Hardcore is to much for me, even normal/expert is difficult for me to keep up 🙂. A lot of dead in normal, all of starving. So hahaha that's how my play is going. But never giving up, to much fun
Can't the developers shorten the rainfall time? It looks unnatural. Considering that one day in the game can be a month. Besides, wouldn't it improve the game's performance.
It can be long indeed, but they have reduced the downpour so we can see a bit better at least, it is rare that it lasts very long tho, so not sure of Devs will reduce it, we can ask at least 😊
Ma ma ma ma Ma Baker
Thanks for a great video. FYI you were asking about the pronunciation of biome, think Rome or dome❤
Thank you! 😄

ohhhhh you're the one with 9000+ hours on steam review! was looking for a game like dawn of man. tons of games. but i kinda want pre historic vibes. helped me out to buy this game! great content, but 9000 hours though!!!! great review! thanks!
Farmer's Tools or Farm Tools
Oh my this ages of tribal ppl are driving me crazy.... I never tried this game... but why even try to make realistic game if 40 years old neolitics ppl can still work:) and I m guessing children are till 18 years old :)
For Meso this is actually correct, BUT since Mesolithic was a timeline where starvation, malnutrition, diseases, accidental injuries, infections, harsh living conditions, war, predator attacks ++ was normal, we had a lot of people not surving past childhood or youth, thus giving Mesolithic timeline a very low average life expectancy, but this does not mean they could not reach a grand age of 60+. In fact if they survived childhood and youth they could reach the grand age of 60+. We actually had less healthy people in the Neolithic than in the Mesolithic, the shift to agriculture during the Neolithic era provided certain benefits, such as more stable food sources and larger communities, but it also introduced new health challenges. These challenges included poorer nutrition, increased disease transmission, and the physical toll of labor-intensive farming, all of which contributed to the overall decline in health compared to their Mesolithic predecessors. So, as we wait for these things to be implemented to the game, we will only have loss of people to lower life expectancy to correct numbers we will have people reaching ripe old ages, If we raid a lot we are likely going to get more accurate life expectancy averages 😊
Could you do a non commentary version?
Do you mean, a play-through without talking ?
But it's only i tell U so it's a notifacation 🙂 i start over on iceland, the normal mode haha cause it's difficult over there, but i want to try that
I was in expert, central europe, and i could make a longhouse, i build and when i was building suddenly i couldn't anymore, so a half build longhouse in my camp. several ingame years i could finish the longhouse, i build 2 off them and then, the same but they where build completly, they start to rot and break down, many ingame years later i think about 7 then finaly i could build them again. That's no joke and no fun. Also i get 1824 BC several groups migrates from metolitics, i don't take them, well you get that why i won't take them in. Strange and no fun
This can happen if we have too many on task, or not enough task for our younger to learn the max skills, this is player responsibility to arrange, but also game has increased learning pace for knowledges so, hopefully this can help us keep up with knowledges. You can get Meso migrants well into the Neo timeline as not the entire area you live in got Neo influence same time. It is much like "un-contacted" tribes in Amazon, that live much same as they did 5000 years ago due to 0 contact with the outside world 😊 So this can still happen in Neo, I would love to have them regularly so I can keep my Meso influence high enough to keep my Wooden posts and Common graves.
@@LadyLillyNo thank u so much, i know i have to arrange that by myself but that's my learning to do ;-P i play every day a few hours and i love it!
What mod are you using for interface?
I use no mod for interface, I have a 4K screen with 2560, 1440 resolution. I only use Zoom in and Pivot Camera mod that can be found in the Workshop section on Steam. 😊
@@LadyLillyNo Ah. I was wondering since your interface areas are black which I like compared to the normal white which tends to cause my eyes to strain a bit. Thanks for the reply and Happy Hunting. 😀
Lot to learn 🙂and learning every day new stuff. Now i start play Expert, so let's go for it. Thank U for this one
When hunting, you can hurt you're self, by mistakes of being attacked. Back in the days, people make there own medicine, bij pulp leafs etc...is that een idea? or am i nuts?
This is planned down the line 😊
@@LadyLillyNo Okidoki...nice job 🙂
it's look more interresting to traveling along the shores then if then can continue to migrate even at night
Yeah deffo, so I always try to manipulate the route based on where I wish to go, but ofc, system decides it no matter what I try so if the route is not to its specifications then we walk just as much as sailing 😁
Is it better to have many gatherer groups, each gathering a single item? Or one (or two) larger groups, gathering many items? Using limits for either case.
I always use solo task if volume needed is high, but those that is needed in small amounts can share a group. So we as players need to find our own balance as we can play different ways pending what we build and so on, but it is a good rule of thumb to not mix high volume mats in a single group.
@@LadyLillyNo What would you consider high volume? Sticks?
@@brunocarneiro107 For my play style I would say straw, reed, sticks and raw stones
@@LadyLillyNo Thank you! So, let's say, you make a work group for sticks. You assign a worker there. Will this worket gather sticks (up until the limit) forever, and develop no other skills? DO workers "rotate" what group activity they do? Is that something to micromanage, or is it "automatic"? Also, if the group has 1 worker assigned to it, and it reaches the limit. Does the group pause automatically? Or will the worker be idle?
@@brunocarneiro107 If he has no limits he will indeed gather forever. He can however swap groups like all other members in any group if he is more needed elsewhere which is often decided by skill set and vicinity, basically suitability for the job, so he will learn other skills even tho he started out as a stick gatherer. System will do this on its own, but if tribe is small we need to make sure we have enough tasks to spread knowledge that only 1 member has before he dies from old age and takes the skills with him. Larger tribes tend to be much more automated on this point than small tribes, so we can find that there is some micromanagement needed to start with for smaller tribes. When worker has reached limits, he will move on to the next group that has tasks suited for him, the group stays as is with no workers as limit is met, hence no tasks available, but it is open to be worked in if limits drop, so when material is lower than the limit, then someone/anyone will take the spot and get it back up to the limits. If he stays with no tasks in the group it tends to mean that no other groups has any tasks left that he can do.
Also the animals are stuck when you take them in with the migrants, all die at the point where they come in.
Hi Lilly, Ive been trying to get in contact with the devs as Im a de jure backer and am unable to reslove my issue ive attempted various platforms with no success. can anything been done, im even able to provide communication to resolve the issue?
You can come to discord if you wish and talk to them, or post a message on the forums on Steam.
Can you explani how long fances need to maintain there is no any adivce on steam just about tools
That depends on the type of fences used, for example the stone fencing can take a decade or more before it needs repairs or maintenance, while a normal wooden fence can need some maintenance once per year or so. Log fences can take many years before they need repairs as well. In order to have the longest lasting fence we should go for stone or log fencing. They do take longer to build and also takes more resources than the cheaper wooden fences. The more materials used, the longer time it takes before needing maintenance or repairs.
@@LadyLillyNo and my hunters won't hunt boars, why? I have 50% HUNTING skill and hunting tools like regular spera i started at beginer lvl 7500 b.c and i have issues with housing because i don't have arc knowlage no new peopes and i have houses for all i build 3 more and nothing happend.
@@mateuszsodzik9572 We have a smol bug with distance calculations, devs are aware and hotfix will come shortly. Make sure you let a builders group with 2-3 people in it take care of all housing, and keep them occupied so they can develop the houses into better quality.
@@LadyLillyNo Thanks! Now i didn't finish straw pit house and get straw house! but world is random generated? i mean maps how this bug works can i make new game and it will be bug free ? I have great spot with plenty of pears!!!
@@mateuszsodzik9572 You might have the bug not appear again in any map, no guarantee tho.
my tribe wont add people to the trade working group saying i dont have enough people
This is likely because you have all members busy with work, so if you wait till the morning before any tasks are given, you are more likely to get a group going in busy tribes. Remember that the smaller your tribe is, the less you will succeed in sending off a lot of traders at the same time. To help with this, place communal task policy to favour group tasks.
Btw I love your ability to breakdown the game. And your dialogue is like a soothing wildlife adventure documentary. At least that’s how I feel when I’m watching lol. Ps. Are you going to or have Jordan Peterson’s new book? “ We Who Wrestle with God”
Thank you :) I alrerady have soem of Petersons work, so I will probably get mroe from him :D
I wonder if the Devs will just give you the ability to fine tune your experience. Some people might want nuts in one playthrough or scarcity of wildlife, frequent storms or a drought. Instead of taking things out of the game, you should be able to play it however you like. That’s what gives a simulation unlimited playability.
They might, we could wish for it and see what happens in the future 😊
If I recall correctly all trees on the Faroer where introduced. So it should be a barren island, it should make for quite a challenge :D
Heh fortunately for me that has been debunked 😁 "Findings of Betula pubescens trunks and branches in the soil, dated to c. 2300 BC, and the abundance of Corylus pollen in deep layers, suggest that at least some local stands of birch and hazel trees were present in the Faroe Islands, prior to human settlement."
@@LadyLillyNo Ah you are right, look at me spreading misinformation! Excuse me :)
I'm almost in year 18 and 1300+BC and still at the same spot as where we migrated from the start. I stopped taking migrants when i had 3 cows and 4 goats, i had 99 people, now without taking migrant i have 250+ people, and i don't want it but to many females i think ;-)and they're popping baby's and most of them also female so.... I want to get to 0 BC and then see what happens???
Well, you cannot get more than 512 population as that is the hard cap 😊 You can control population growth to a certain degree by not keeping tribe 100% happy all the time 😉 You can play till 2024 AD if you like, no end 😄
@@LadyLillyNo crap! that's a lot. I've build mine fourth longhouse, and when it's done (already sleep by the fires) the next. Not 100% happy, well...i'll try. So long? hahaha cool. Thank U for reply
thanks lilly !! you go girl !
Are those procedurally generated tribes? Seems the devs need to scale it abit more to time and region
Yeah its due to the sea being too deep for traders or raiders to go anywhere but that tiny island 😊
@@LadyLillyNo are raids in the game? Haven’t seen one yet.
@@melcombrowne5208 Yeah we can raid, I will raid the other tribes when the need arises 😉
@@LadyLillyNo Im not sure how I feel about the time progression in the game. evolution in culture should be tied to the skills/knowledge, rather skipping millennia. religion should be included in the knowledge accumulation.
@@melcombrowne5208 We got Fast mode for the impatient players, Slow mode is for us that actually want the correct timeline experience and feeling 🙂 All knowledge and technology in the game is added at the right timeline and culture, no fantasy or invented content. We do not have Longhouses in 8K BC simply because there were no longhouses in that timeline, we do not have that player decides when any knoweldge or technology should come to the player, because history has decided that for us. We do have religion and religious structures throughout the timelines included in the knowledge accumulation. We got offerings, menhirs, temples, trilithons, passage tombs etc as you progress in time and with better knowledge that belongs to the region, culture and timeline, you basically got access to what we know they had at the time, but ofc not all yet as game is in development all the time, plus there needs to be a certain adapted playability rather than 1 discovery per 1 year in game. It is historically accurate atm, and this will not change as AC is founded upon history and facts as we know it, so even if some feel Meso timeline is too slow and boring... well that is because there was no new ground-breaking discoveries nor any new tools or amazing housing untill we came closer to the Neolithic 🙂 So for those players I say go Fast mode, and we others who wish to play it more as it was, can play Slow mode 😊
Your videos have a MAJOR volume issue. I looked for these videos in the first place for tutorials, obviously. But your voiceover giving the tips and explanations is low enough I have to max out my volume to hear you. Then you have these OBNOXIOUS intro and outro music clips that add NOTHING to the video but blast my ears for no good reason. They serve zero purpose. They're annoying as hell and make your videos useless to me.
when are they planning to implementing Mesopotamia? whats currently in game is not "cities" they should rename to european/Atlantic neolitic with smattering of sub saharan africa.
Other cultures than Meso and Neo is planned and being worked on. As the game develops, more cultures will be added along with timeline appropriate objects such as different housing food and so on, one step at the time Developers will add what the player community asks for besides what is already planned. 😊
@@LadyLillyNo look I’m going to make the judgement here. It’s gonna stall out. Even to eealease what they’ve already don’t (I remember seeing back at the beginning the classic mud/brick structure mespotamia is known for) even realising it to show that it’s going in that direction and keep the devs on the path instead of bottoming out.
@@melcombrowne5208 The thing is, the Trailer contained all their at the time plans for the game, including DLC and Base game implementations that would come as the game developed. It was never planned to have all implemented by release, it was planned to be done bit by bit after as well and not all in one go. I did not start playing untill 2021 so I am unsure of all the details here. What cannot be argued tho is that the game has come a long way since I started playing it and Devs have a ToDo list with wishes and wants from the player community, and I am pretty sure Mesopotamian culture is among them. 🙂
Lilly, why do you not build fences around your farms?
Simply because I am too lazy with very smol starter farms 😁 but I will add fencing when all 4 farms are up in the play through 😊 If it had been Hardcore, all fencing would be up already 😊
@@LadyLillyNo Thanks for the reply :)
i can't find wheat in nature and also no other camp on the map has wheat grain, for trade or steal. So i strugle with straw for my animals, roofing the houses and food. i'm in Europe starter place.
I would keep an eye on the neighbour tribes and see if grain pops up. We often must wait years into Neo timeline before wild wheat grows for us, this is part of the game play, we raid or trade for what we lack, either till we get the first seeds needed from nature, or till we find a tribe that has what we need. Dont forget all tribes change their commodity and demands over the years, so just pay attention to them a few tiems per year as they change intermittlently and not all same time 😊
I dont even have the game but I just love your narration ❤
Awwwe thats soo sweet, Thank you 😊
I bought the game before checking if my computer could run it xD But I'm enjoying watching these too, looking forward to the day I can get a computer that can run it, so I can play!
do i understand what you explained? with 1 femal goat, 1 male goat, pair up? i do not understand the English laungage perfect, i'm from the Netherlands and i'm not that young anymore that it's easy to learn. I'll try but this part what you said is not clear for me, so please, would you explain it again? i listend more times but...sorry
Males and females can couple/pair up and will thus have a small increased chance of getting offspring above non coupled of same species, but both can also even if coupled/paired up have offspring with any other of opposite sex within their own species in the tribe 😊 Mannetjes en vrouwtjes kunnen paren/paren en hebben dus een klein verhoogde kans om nakomelingen te krijgen, maar beide kunnen ook, zelfs als ze gekoppeld/gepaard zijn, nakomelingen hebben met iemand anders van het andere geslacht binnen hun eigen soort in de stam 😊

You can try to play it on a modern mac if you install windows on it too, either win 10 via boot camp or win 11 on apple silicon mac. Basically, you can virtually run Windows 11 on the newest Apple Mac devices (those with Apple's own ARM-based M1, M2, or M3 chips) using Microsoft-authorized methods. Devs are not sure it will work tho, but cannot hurt to try at least. If it does not work just ask Steam for refund.
