i always used to think when she said u dont know what evil it, i was like he was angelus of course he does, but rewatching this now i see it differently, i personally think she meant that because angelus was without a soul, and what she did she had a soul and to take lives anyway shows evil. add that to her saying shes evil like she doesnt deserved to be saved because she did all this while having a soul

that song was PERFECT for Faith. I remember buying the Hillbilly Deluxe cd the next day after this show aired and played Living Dead Girl over and over.
this scene truly solidified the strength that Angel could definitely stand alone as a series. Two characters on a spinoff that give a towering performance of pain and redemption. Angel can connect with Faith about both.
Spike was right. At some point, every Slayer has a death wish. This was Faith’s point.
I often think of this beautiful scene. I relate to how Faith feels. Never quite fitting in, becoming "bad", and wanting it to end.

John and Rocky were so mediocre, absolutely no nuance, no dynamics, they weren't at all right for Evanescence music. The difference between the live performances of this song with them and the ones with the post-2007 band of Amy, Tim, Troy and Will Hunt is major.
Faith was always badass

The fight scenes are great. Faith Lehane is the real slayer. But the end where she says pls kill me. So Sad
I'd be interested in an analysis between this scene and the scene between Buffy and Tara where Buffy begs "Please don't forgive me!"
Very different but powerful scenes. Faith hit rock bottom in a self destructive cycle and had given up on life. She went to this fight to die. At this point she knew she hated herself, in Buffy she was forced to really self analyze. She tried just owning being a terrible person hence all those fun things she did to Wesley. But Angel broke her by still giving a damn. The lie was over and she didnt want to be a terrible person. Buffy scene was an arc of depression, she did not hate her self like Faith did. She just felt hollow, she went through the motions of life without enjoying them as much as she use to. Spike was not a good relationship she knew it. But he made the world hurt a bit less. The fact that she kept using Spike really caught up to her in the scene. Tara confronted Buffy, but did not judge her. She let Buffy vent her frustration and admit her failings. This was amazing to me as I am really bad at that. When someone comes to me with a problem I tend to give them a solution and a pat on the back. In this instance listening and caring was the solution. It sounds so simple and yet I stil dont think I can do it. Tldr Faith was a miserable human bieng who had realized what she was, to hide from it she tried reveling in it. Angel dismantled her world by caring for that miserable person even when she had given up onherself. Buffy, was a great person. Who struggled with depression. She started down a self destructive path to cope. Tara confronted her and Buffy had to own up to herself that she had a problem and she was self medicating the wrong way. A type-A personality with depression must have been a special kind of hell.
Angel 💞 The Series showed why Demons feared Slayers. Right here is the prime example. Then Dana the Slayer in season 5 Raw Power of a Slayer

Angel has a compassionate nature unlike buffy she couldn't relate, that's what i liked about him, he didn't give up on faith or darla, trying to save them from themselves and guide them into redemption
