Despite the numbers London is vast and has copious places of tranquility and calm. The amount of beautiful green spaces is unrivalled . It’s an incredible place to live and only packed in tourist areas.

Yes, about 8 million people in just over 606 square miles made up of the City of London (1.12 square miles) and the 32 London boroughs (the largest of which is just under 59 square miles). So London has approximately the same amount of people as New York in a land area of about twice the size. Many people have no idea how large London is and think it only covers the central tourist few square miles and so only see less than 10% of London, but as someone who worked for London local government for more than 29 years, I learnt about London’s 33 local authorities as part of my work. People tend to think you’re discussing the metropolitan area outside London, but it’s just London and came into being on 1st April 1965 when an Act of Parliament moved London’s boundaries further out and created the 32 London boroughs to add to the City of London. The town in London where I was born and raised was previously a town in the county of Kent, but was the capital town of London’s largest borough by the time I was born there and is made up mostly of villages, hamlets, farms and open countryside and so still looks like it’s part of Kent rather than what most people think of as London as it’s very rural. The town is some 10 miles southeast of London Bridge and its boundary with Kent is about 18 miles from London Bridge. There’s more to London than the overcrowded central hub is my point, so to say London is too crowded is to misunderstand what the majority of London is like.

We actually brought our tickets through Get your guide. Which I thing it was more like a transfer. I'm sure the shows free if your out there. Was like 42km out there.

What the hell are you talking about. STUPID comment

London is consistantly in the top three visited cities in the world. It isn’t exactly a shock that you might see more foreigners than English there. NONE of the people there on holiday will be at work. Many English people WILL be at work. It’s not rocket science. You are clearly going to see more foreigners out and about.

Weird question to ask if you were in a tourist area - bemused by this comment. Living and working in London 90% of the people I see daily are English

Yep on the streets and the tube I use every day. Almost everyone in south London are English and yes you do get tourists on the tube but most are commuters working in the city. The place i see the most foreigners is Canary Wharf as it’s filled with American , Indian and Aussie immigrants working for the hedge funds etc

Haven't been to Twickenham stadium not to sure if we are going there.

After London we are going to Amsterdam then Thailand
